1.NATIONAL OUTREACH PROJECT

NOP GOALS :

    CanKids National Outreach Project goals
  • to enable access to quality pediatric cancer care and support anywhere in the country
  • to provide support services to children with cancer and their families across the nation
  • to develop and implement best practice and low cost models in all areas of treatment support for pediatric cancer
  • to make a significant impact on childhood cancer treatment and care in India.

NOP AIMS :

    The project aims to expand and administer Core Support Service Programs of Cankids to reach children with cancer and their families across India, by:
  1. Setting up and running Cankids units providing our support services beyond Delhi , or collaborating with NGOs already providing some services to extend the scope of services to families.
  2. Offering medical and educational financial assistance or facilitating this support from Government and other funding to children with cancer from anywhere in the country
  3. Providing treatment support services in areas of Nutrition, Hygiene, Infection Control, Hematological support, Accommodation and Information to the families
  4. Collaborating with cancer centers and the medical professionals to provide better quality pediatric cancer treatment and support
  5. Focusing on specific childhood cancers and/or treatments and procedures
  6. Extending the scope and depth of our Psychological Support, Counseling and Evaluation (PSCE) Programs and empowering and training Parent Support Groups, Cankids teachers and volunteers to provide better quality emotional and psychological support, counseling, palliative care, and bereavement counseling to children and their families across the country.
  7. Building capacity and skills in support services for pediatric cancer care, through training and resource material- for social workers, database mangers, parents support group and teachers
  8. Collecting and providing information, creating awareness and advocating to Government, cancer centers and drug industry for best possible treatment and care for children with cancer in India.
