On Saturday, June 21st, Museo Camera in Gurugram shimmered gold as the CanKids Champions of Gold Circle Event united our community in support of children battling cancer and their families. Hosted by Founder Chairman CanKids Poonam Bagai, the evening was an unforgettable celebration of life, legacy, and giving.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our venue host, Aditya Arya, of Museo Camera, for graciously opening the doors of India’s First Centre for Photographic Arts to CanKids, Sohaila Kapur and 3 Arts Club who wove together music, nostalgia, and storytelling in a celebration of artistic legacy. A big thank you to our MC of the evening, Mr Nidhikant Pandey who held the evening together with warmth and wit, to Vedika Singhal and team from Ferris Wheel Diaries – our event partner.
With a full house of 93 attendees, this was more than just an event—it was a statement that Gurugram goes gold for childhood cancer. We were honoured to have our senior most members Dr R S Gupta and Mrs Sateesh Lal (parent of Ms Punita and Mr Ajay Lal – our esteemed donors from Singapore) in our midst.
Guests were greeted in the grand atrium with spritzers and popcorn caddies, setting a festive tone for an evening of stories and purpose. The theatre-style seating added intimacy and focus to every performance and pitch.
At 5:45 PM, a curated museum tour led by Aditya Arya and team showcased the rich history of photography and the creative spirit of Museo Camera.
At the photo booths, guests captured joyful moments:

As the lights dimmed, Sonal Sharma, herself the parent of a childhood cancer survivor, set the evening in motion with her personal reflection on why childhood cancer matters to her.

Dr. Sameer Bakhshi, Professor and Head of Oncology at AIIMS New Delhi, spoke briefly about his decades of work treating over 10,000 children with cancer and his commitment to equitable care and research that reduces the side effects of therapy.
The highlight of the evening was Anand hi Anand, a powerful theatrical tribute , narrated by Sohaila Kapur and 3 Arts Club to her uncles—the legendary Anand brothers – Goldie, Chetan and Dev Anand. This moving performance wove together music, nostalgia, and storytelling in a celebration of artistic legacy.
Poonam Bagai then shared the CanKids story, inviting guests to partner in the mission to help every child with cancer in India access care—to survive and thrive.
Tarun Ohri, Chair of the Gold Circle evening, along with other board members, Sonal, Gini and Srinath and senior management Vaibhav, Poonam T, Arish and Sumita, ensured the guests mingled over a delicious dinner catered by Ingri – an all-day café with “the vibe”, with drinks and music closing out the night on a high note.
