From 64% Access to 100%
No Child Left Behind
In Gujarat, an estimated 3,632 children are diagnosed with cancer each year.
Yet only 64% reach treatment.
That leaves over 1 in 3 children without care.
Not because treatment does not exist.
But because systems fail before the child reaches it.
Until recently, CanKids’ state model ensured that children across Gujarat were:
* Identified early
* Referred to the right hospitals
* Supported through treatment
* Protected from dropping out
Today, due to the exit of a key CSR partner:
* North Gujarat, Central Gujarat, and Saurashtra are at risk
* Only South Gujarat remains supported
This is not a partial gap.
It is a system fracture across 3 regions.
If this gap is not addressed in the next 3 months:
* Children will not be diagnosed in time
* Families will not reach treatment centers
* Ongoing patients may abandon treatment
* Survival rates will decline
Years of progress in Gujarat will reverse.
At the center is the Samanvay Kendra (State Coordination System) in Ahmedabad, which:
* Identifies children across districts
* Connects them to treatment centers
* Enables financial protection
* Coordinates care across hospitals
Working with institutions like:
* Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute
* Kailash Cancer Hospital
* HCG & other regional centers
This is not a project.
It is the backbone of access to care.
We are raising ₹55 lakhs (~USD 66,000) over 3 months to:
* Restore coverage in North, Central & Saurashtra Gujarat
* Sustain treatment for children already in care
* Ensure new children are identified and treated
* Keep the state coordination system functional
Together, We Can Give These children A Fighting Chance
